About the lab

GenBlock

The GenBlock lab specialises in the design and deployment of autonomous infrastructure for supercomputing at any scale. We build fault-tolerant server solutions for stationary data centres, as well as mobile modular data centres in heavy-duty block containers built to the client’s individual technical specification. The structures are engineered to stringent reliability standards, adapted for operation in extreme climatic conditions, and suit both outdoor placement and integration inside existing non-specialised industrial and warehouse premises.

Why it works

No capital-construction costs

GenBlock infrastructure requires no construction of permanent buildings. A modular data centre is assembled and tested at the factory, then quickly installed on any prepared site — wherever the cheapest electricity and high-speed internet are available, which radically lowers the cost of computing.

A dual asset: heat recovery

In the optimal 12-rack configuration, the total thermal output of a single module ranges from 360 kW to 1.2+ MW. At the client’s request, the data centre is equipped with heat-recovery systems that convert server heat into heating for industrial, warehouse or office spaces of thousands of m² — this zeroes out or substantially reduces heating costs (OpEx).

Placement flexibility

The system can be deployed both outdoors and inside a building that needs constant heating, acting as a powerful primary heat source.

Fault tolerance up to 99.999%

Multi-stage redundancy of the power and cooling systems guarantees business-process continuity (Disaster Recovery) and a predictable cost of ownership.

Frequently asked questions

Is it necessary to build a special building for the data centre?
No. A site with access to cost-effective electricity and communication channels is enough. A modular data centre is delivered ready-made and launched right away, saving months of time and millions of roubles on capital construction.
How many racks are in a module and what are the heat parameters?
Up to 18 server racks. The basic optimal solution is designed for 12 racks — in this configuration the system steadily generates from 360 kW to 1.2 MW and more of thermal output. When heat recovery is integrated, this heat is directed to warm non-specialised premises (workshops, warehouses, hangars).
Which industry standards do the solutions meet?
Design and assembly are carried out in strict compliance with the Tier III / Tier IV reliability standards (Uptime Institute), AS9100, ISO 27001, and national requirements for electrical safety and fire protection.
How energy-efficient is the climate design?
The intelligent climate-control system delivers a PUE below 1.2, which reduces associated cooling costs by up to 30–40%.
